Holdrege Area Chamber of Commerce
The Holdrege Area Chamber of Commerce
The Holdrege Area Chamber of Commerce (HACC) was created in 1904 and has operated continuously ever since. Our Chamber was originally organized to advance the general welfare and prosperity of the Holdrege area so that our citizens and all areas of the business community can prosper. It still does that job today - the HACC is a partnership of business and professional people working together to build a healthy economy and improve the quality of life in Phelps County and the surrounding region.
The Holdrege Area Chamber has many functions, including economic developer and planner, tourist information center, business spokesperson, economic counselor and teacher, government relations specialist, human resources advisor and public relations practitioner. Working together with paid staff, we strive to achieve each of those goals in service to our membership.

What the Chamber does for you
The Chamber partners not only with members but with local, regional and state organizations to provide up-to-date information and resources. In addition, the Chamber promotes programs of civic, social and cultural nature which it believes will increase the functional and aesthetic values of the community as well as economic programs designed to develop the businesses here in Phelps County and surrounding areas.

Chamber Programs
Chamber Bucks
Chamber bucks are pretty much the same as cash - but they are not redeemable for cash, only for merchandise or services at a Chamber member. The purpose of the Chamber Buck is to keep business local. Chamber Bucks come in handy for the holidays, birthdays, promotions, welcoming new babies, etc.
Coffee A.M.
Our weekly social networking tool is known as "Coffee A.M." Coffee A.M. is a social gathering that takes place every Friday morning from 9:30am to 10:30am. Coffee, juice and refreshments are usually served by the hosting business.
Board of Directors
The Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is a volunteer position. The Board consists of 15 local business owners and/or managers. The Board is the main decision maker for what takes place here at the Chamber. Typically, the Board of Directors meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 12:00 pm.
Executive Committee
The executive board serves as an advisory board to streamline the Board of Directors. When immediate attention is required to a matter, this is where the Executive Committee comes in.
Committees
The Chamber of Commerce has six standing committees: Ambassadors, Agriculture, Finance/Fundraising, Chamber Events, Business Committee and Retail Recruitment.
Newsletter
HACC also prints out a monthly newsletter called the Target. The Target is printed at the beginning of the month and entails exciting news about the Chamber, its new members, the current board as well as any events taking place in Holdrege for that month.
Staff
HACC employs a professional staff to oversee daily operations and tasks in cooperation with its members as well as the overall organization.
