Who Are We?
First incorporated in August of 1998, Phelps County Development Corporation developed out of the Holdrege Area Chamber of Commerce. It is the primary agency in Phelps County charged with the retention, expansion and attraction of new business and industry in the Phelps County area. Primarily an agriculture region, a balance and diversification of agriculture and industry is a goal of PCDC.Today, PCDC is a 501 (C) 6 Not-for-profit Corporation that has approximately 50/50 funding through public and private sources. The county, city of Holdrege and three of the four villages comprise the public funding with over 75 memberships of area businesses and individuals at one of the three levels of membership.
The fundamental commitment of PCDC is to help the Holdrege/Phelps County economy grow and remain steadfast. A 22 member Executive Board made up of economic development supporters and community leaders governs PCDC. Staff of an executive director and administrative assistant oversees the daily operation and activities of the organization. The Executive Board annually establishes a plan of work that sets both long and short-term organizational goals.
