A Call to Action: "Sell" Turn-key Call Center

posted to: Business news section by Phelps County Development Corporation on 3/14/2011

The Phelps County Development Corp. is actively seeking a tenant for a turnkey call center in Holdrege, NE. The call center is currently home to The Connection, which has plans to vacate mid-March. Although the local economic development agency is hopeful The Connection decides closure is unnecessary, a brochure has been designed to promote both the facility and the trained workforce.

Monica Boyken, PCDC's Executive Director, has framed the loss of the existing call center as an opportunity. "To be successful in attracting new businesses, a community must have a product to sell," said Boyken. "Most businesses seek profitability long before they consider the quality of life. We have a marketable product today: a turnkey call center, complete with facility, equipment, and talented employees."

PCDC urges residents to help promote the opportunity to others. Jim Wiser, President of the organization, says "PCDC volunteers have long known that it takes hundreds of contacts to recruit a new business. We are asking everyone to make at least one contact: shoot out an email to your contact list, mention it on your Face Book page, or talk it up with everyone you encounter. The more contacts, the more quickly we get a new employer."
